What's in a name?

Many moons ago as I watched four little girls playing outside on the magnificent farm in central Minnesota where I still reside, I heard the oldest say, "Let's go play on the Lindsey Tree." These four cousins, (two are my daughters) are just five years apart in age from oldest to youngest.

The Lindsey Tree watched them grow and provided a beautiful backdrop for special occasions-proms, graduations-with more still to come. I have no idea how the girls came to name the tree. Imagination and creativity are magical and beautiful. When I decided to start this business, I wanted to name it after the four girls that were turning into strong, compassionate women right before my eyes.

As I thought about it, their lovely, sing-song voices echoed in my mind, "meet me by the Lindsey Tree." Of course! A name as magical and creative as the girls' imaginations. "Lindsey Tree Designs!"

Recently, I decided to combine my love of sewing and my love of the 3 R's (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) to expand Lindsey Tree Designs (LTD) to offer items for the kitchen. You can find our kitchen related items on Etsy at Lindsey Tree Kitchen.
